Circular knives – Lower knives
Lower knives are used as a counter piece for the upper knives. In this process the upper knife is placed on the lower knife and thus enables a type of scissors cut for very long cutting material. Lower knives are fastened to shafts. Several lower knives are attached to a shaft, and the spacing between the knives can be set via intermediate rings or a freely adjustable shaft.
These kind of systems are frequently used for lengthwise cutting of paper or foil.
